The Levels of Dance

Introductory/Basic

Take the first step to becoming a more desirable dance partner. In the Basic Program, you’ll be able to experience the core elements of ASA’s programs which work together to enable students to accelerate their learning while having a great time.

Mix & Mingle

The next step to becoming a more comfortable dancer. In the Mix & MingleProgram, you’ll get a taste of how tounderstand dance, not just the dance steps. We’ll get you comfortable knowing what to dance to the music playing, also beginning to understand how most dances interrelate. This is considered a stepping stone to the Bronze Program.

Bronze

This social dancing program is designed to develop timing and technique. The styling will make you look great and feel comfortable while on the floor. Dancing at this level will be yours to keep as you will never forget the elements of each dance. It is the fun point in dancing when you don’t have to think about anything but enjoying your partner and having fun yourself.

Silver

This program gives you a higher degree of styling. Flashy movements make dancers at this standard stand out on the dance floor. Continuity of movement makes a couple glide around the dance floor in many different directions. Styling makes this standard develop an individual character. A Silver dancer is definitely noticed on a crowded floor.

Gold

Our Gold Program is the highest level of social dancing. This program is for the hobby dancer or the person who wants to do exhibitions. Choreography, Styling, Technique and Showmanship are necessities in this standard. The smoothness and control make this a beautiful standard to sit and watch. You will truly be regarded as an outstanding dancer able to excel in any dance there is.

Competitive

This program is for the individual who wants to achieve the ultimate in dance perfection. Competitive dancers aim high, achieve excellence and pursue ballroom dance with a deep passion. This personalized program includes competing with your partner or instructor in dance competitions, locally and/or nationally.
