General Scientific Agreement
The PAS General Assembly invites national scientific communities and the national government to actively support Poland`s participation in this important undertaking. When scientists gather further observations, they will rely on a statement and add details to complete the table. Finally, a group of hypotheses could be integrated and generalized into a scientific theory, a general scientifically acceptable principle, or a basic principle offered to explain phenomena. The fact that humans cause global warming is the position of the academies of science in 80 countries, as well as many scientific organizations that deal with climate science. Specifically, about 95% of active climate scientists who actively publish climate documents support the consensus position. The perception of the existence of a scientific consensus on a given issue and the strength of that conception has been described as a “door belief” on which other beliefs are based, and then action. Climate scientists agree that climate change is happening here and now. Based on good evidence, about 97% of climate scientists have concluded that climate change is the cause of humans. This agreement is documented not only by a single study, but also by a convergence of data over the past two decades, from surveys conducted by scientists, analysis of the content of peer review studies, and public statements published by virtually all member organizations by experts in this field. The global average temperature has increased by about 1.4 degrees F over the past 100 years. Sea levels are rising, and some types of extreme events, such as heat waves and heavy rainfall, are more common.
Recent scientific evidence indicates that climate change is likely responsible for the increase in the intensity of many of these events in recent years. There is clear evidence that the earth`s lower atmosphere, ocean and earth`s surface are warming; sea level rise; and the snow cover, mountain glaciers and Arctic sea ice are shrinking. The main cause of warming since the 1950s is human activity. This scientific discovery is based on an important and convincing body of research. The observed warming will be irreversible for many years in the future and the temperature will rise further if greenhouse gases continue to accumulate in the atmosphere.
